Safety Shield Plastic
Stocked nationwide. Same-day shipping on stock. Custom slitting, sheeting, and cut-to-size.
Safety shield plastic has to stay clear under handling and take an impact without shattering, which is why K&R leads with polycarbonate for faceshields, sneeze guards, machine guards, and barrier panels. We stock optically clear polycarbonate in the gauges fabricators run, plus a lower-cost PETG option where impact demands are lighter, and ship same-day on stock from five distribution warehouses with custom cut-to-size in house.

Frequently asked questions
- Polycarbonate or PETG for a safety shield?
- Polycarbonate is the high-impact, virtually unbreakable choice and is preferred for faceshields, machine guards, and anywhere a hard strike is possible. PETG is optically clear, easy to fabricate, and noticeably less expensive — a good fit for sneeze guards and low-impact barriers. We stock both so you can match cost to the actual impact requirement.
- What gauge polycarbonate is right for a machine guard or barrier?
- Light faceshields run .030–.060. Counter sneeze guards typically use .093–.118 for rigidity. Machine guards and enclosure windows step up to .177–.250 where the panel must absorb an impact and stand unsupported. Send us the span and mounting and we'll recommend a gauge.
- Will the shield stay optically clear and resist fogging or scratches?
- Standard polycarbonate is optically clear out of the box. For visors and high-touch shields we stock anti-fog and abrasion-resistant hard-coat grades that keep the view clear and resist scuffing from cleaning. Tell us the environment and we'll qualify the right surface.
- Can you cut shields to a custom size?
- Yes — we slit, sheet, and cut-to-size in house, so you can order finished blanks at the exact dimensions your guard or barrier needs instead of trimming full sheets.
